Lots of great people I have met through school, events, and in neighborhoods. I feel pretty safe in this area and feel connected to the community through communication with others in my neighborhood and school. Some things I like is how wide the county is and how many different schools and communities are within it. Allows me to meet new people and appreciate the town I live in. Something I would like to see change in Roanoke County would be things within the school system. Something in the school system I would like to se changed is standardized testing. Even though this is a state related issue, I would like to see testing like this not be required anymore. Another thing more so within the county I would like to see change is the green bicycle paths near Valley View area. I feel that they are kind of unnecessary and in the way considering I have never seen people bike in those areas.... Public transit is also very good, as fairfax county is connected with the rest of the DC metro area through metro, which is quite inexpensive. Some of the public schools are of very high caliber, even comparable to established private schools. However, as a result of the higher income in the county, the cost of living has become very high. groceries have nearly tripled in price whilst gasoline has doubled. However, at a more local scale, congestion on interstate 66 as well as during peak times in schools has been regular, causing as long as 30 minute delays. This could be fixed by widening the roads on i66 in popular areas to 4 lanes, and requiring at least 3 lanes near schools or by potentially implementing AI and computer vision to help Improve traffic cycles....
