For those who prefer to read

All right, the wait is over. After teaching you about bohemian design or boho, the response was overwhelmingly in favour of going through the rest of Danika colour palette that she put together. So that's exactly what we're going to do in today's video.

Here are nine colours that suit a boho palette. I'm James from the paint people.com. And in addition to talking about paint, we also have a design division called Creative house design.

And that's where we put together palettes like this for our clients.

We got nine Benjamin Moo

re colours here to go over and they're meant to represent all the different colours that you might see within a boho colour scheme, not necessarily just pink colours as well. You might find some of these colours in your furniture, your rugs, maybe some surrounding artwork, and of course your paint colours as well.

And if you watched her style series episode that Danica and I did you already know the first three colours so I'll just quickly go over them first.

Silver Bells is the lightest colour of the palette coming in and an LRV right around 69.

This isn't light enough where I would call it an off white, so it's not a traditional trim colour choice, although you could still use it on your woodwork if you really wanted to. It's also the coolest colour of this palette, which is because most of the colours you'll see in boho have a tendency to be warmer rather than cooler.

Shabby Chic was the second colour we went over which is more of a mid tone, and it's the colour that contains a lot more visible brown than silver bells. It's LRB is 49.97. So essentially, it's about 20 points darker, making it a true mid tone colour.

And finally, our third colour that we mentioned was smoke brush 1519, which was the most accent colour worthy choice of those three coming in at an LRV under 20.

It's an interesting name choice because the smoke portion speaks to its slightly taupe aspect and it reads a little more as a green which is taken from the bush aspect of it. That's enough of a recap, let's get to the rest of the palette with the six new colours.

The first one I want to talk about is called Hazelwood. 10 05 what may seem like a grey at first actually has a lot more going on, including some beige, but also a bit of a red and it's undertone. It has that subtle peachy clay quality to it and it also has a mid tone calibre LRV of 49.27. Well, this is still fairly cool compared to the other colours I'll talk about later. It has enough warmth to really feel boho, but can also be used in a more modern interpretation of Bohemian.

It's an awesome choice if you'd like to incorporate bohemian elements. In an otherwise contemporary palette. You can take this strategy even further with our next colour called London fog. This is the closest thing to Grace you'll find in this palette, as it does incorporate beige and grey which does give it a bit of a green undertone subtly in the background green is always going to be a solid choice in boho because of the amount of surrounding plant life that the colour will be enveloped in. In my opinion.

This is as grey as I would like to go with bajo because it hasn't crossed into blue grey territory, which is maybe just a bit too jarring. But then again, there's really no rules of the bow. It's just more of a preference thing for us. Let's start getting a bit deeper with these colours.

Cabot Trail 998 can sort of be interpreted as a darker, more green centric version of the previously mentioned shabby chic, it has an LRB just under 27 which is dark, but not quite in accent territory based on its slightly greeny tan composition.

It reacts really well with light so this could be a fine colour choice and a more well lit room or a bigger space in general, especially when it's filled with those lighter elements like a large jute rug and some big fluffy floor pillows. The saturation is toned down a little bit and that will really allow it to feel settled in the colour palette. It's not overly bright and fluorescent is a paint colour.

So if you have some of those brighter colours in your accessories, they'll stand out even better they would Brown is a colour that has a really strong Pinky terracotta quality to it. Especially when placed next to all these other surrounding greeny beige colours.

It has an LRV of 33.46 so slightly lighter than the previous colour, but darker than your mid tone colours. It does a great job at introducing some complimentary red touches to an otherwise earthy palette, not nearly as much red as arguably my favourite colour in this entire palette, Bourbon Street, which is the colour code 1257.

This is the colour that stands out the most to me because of its dusty red wine feeling. And it just adds a sense of luxury. The deep yet pale mauve in Bourbon Street will really pop within this palette. So really think carefully whether you want to use it as an entire wall colour for a whole room. Or maybe you just want to use it in smaller doses as little accents here and there.

That's really up to you just know that you'll really see that purpley colour come through against a backdrop of those warmer greys beiges browns and greens. And finally, let's end off with the darkest colour in this entire palette, which also happens to be a deep green despite its name otter brown with an LRV of 5.66.

Some people might consider this colour as an off black based on how dark it is, but it really is a very dark brown green shade.

That is absolutely lovely in a boho palette, it's always important to introduce lots of colour with boho, that's a given but introducing some darker shades here and there really does a great job at adding contrast and therefore dimension.

Although using black isn't traditional and bohemian design, so why not give the effect of a nearly black paint colour, one that suits warmer colours perfectly, like otter Brown, there's a near infinite number of combinations you can use here.

Whether you want to pick one for your walls, another for your trim, and then a third for your furniture or just your surrounding elements altogether great. If you want to use each one in different rooms on the walls.

That's also great to let this be a foundation or a jumping off point for your own interpretation of what boho means to you. If you haven't seen the boho design explainer video I did with Danica it's right over here.

I felt it was about time to show you more members of the paint people team because there really is a lot of people behind this thing. And Danica is absolutely awesome seeing the next one
