Displaying Cut-Out Cookies

As I mentioned above, sugar cutout cookies are my absolute favorite kind of Christmas cookie! I mean does it get any better than sugar cookies topped off with royal icing?! I think not.

And I think these cookies are so easy to display because they are just so beautiful on their own. Each one is a little work of art, and they all look perfect displayed on a cookie platter or serving tray!

I also love how you can make these cookies to your own color scheme too. Whether you want iced red and green traditional cookies, or something a little more modern, the choice is yours! Depending on the size of your cookie shapes, you can decide just how to line them up on a display table or stand.

My trick is to save the really pretty iced cookies and place them on the very top of your cookie board. That way, everyone will see those first and it makes for a killer display. You can also display these cookies at varying heights, placing some on a tray and some elevated up on some cake stands too!

And cut-out cookies aren’t just for Christmas! I make these for Easter and even Halloween too! You can really make them anytime of the year!

Displaying Gingerbread Cookies

Another one of my favorite Christmas cookies to make are homemade gingerbread cookies! Again, you can ice and decorate these to whatever your heart desires! I also love displaying these cookies next to a gingerbread house! How fun is that?!

If I have gingerbread houses made, I usually display them on my bar in the kitchen. So then, it is easy to add in a tray full of yummy gingerbread cookies next to them too. That way, you can easily snag one (or two) when you’re walking by.

And here’s a tip, if you already have your cookies displayed on a tray and don’t want to move them into an airtight container just yet, then simply place a sheet of plastic wrap on top. It’s a great way to have everything displayed and ready to go (especially if you’re hosting). And you can easily peel the plastic wrap off right before your guest arrive too.

I have a great recipe for gingerbread cookies and even more cookies that I shared a few years ago on my blog. Be sure to check outMy Top 5 Christmas Cookies That I Bake Every Year too!

Christmas Cookie Display Accessories

There are a number of different things I like to display along with the variety of cookies I make. For example, I like to display some faux candy canes when featuring my chocolate fudge cookies with candy cane buttercream! It goes hand in hand!

But also, I love to display non food related items too. Like for example, I will have just a tray full of vintage goodies styled next to a plate full of cookies. Or I will display a vintage rolling pin with some finished cookies too.

Another thing I do is if I use white chocolate chips, fun sprinkles, or dark chocolate chips, I’ll have little bowls full of them displayed next to the cookies too. And I like to use seasonal bowls, mugs, plates, etc. to keep up with the holiday theme. If you’re hosting for a cookie exchange party, make sure to have serving utensils displayed next to the cookies too. It’s both practical and functional!

Lastly, I also love to pair up my finished holiday desserts with a candle. And again, if you know me, then you know it’s gotta be an Antique Candle Co candle! They have the perfect holiday scents to go along with all the different types of cookies.

For example, their homemade gingerbread candle is perfect to display with gingerbread cookies. And, their peppermint candle is great with the chocolate fudge cookie with candy cane buttercream like I mentioned above too. And, they even have a plain sugar cookie candle as well. So there are a ton of options to pair your favorite candle with your favorite cookie too! And you can use my code “MACEDONIA20” to get 20% off any candle too!
