Dear Medical University of South Carolina, These are things that we what we all want too!Right now, there’s no clear pathway for a promotion or salary increase. HR actively discouraged me (and discourages other research coordinators) from advancing. When I asked what I needed to do to demonstrate I am ready for the next role, they would not provide me with the information needed. They would not even provide me with my current job description and duties, making bit extremely hard for me to set boundaries, including when I’m asked to do things that someone in the role above me should do. It’s demotivating. The lack of transparency and investment in good workers is killing MUSC as a whole. People who want to do a good job, learn as much as possible, and level up are a dime a dozen. And these wonderful folks ARE LEAVING MUSC IN DROVES.So, MUSC. When you have someone good, invest in them. Support their goals. Enable their growth. Reward them for their loyalty. MUSC is doing a great job of diversifying our leadership and workforce, elevating historically marginalized voices, and creating a culture that celebrates differences. But employees are frustrated.Employees want competive wages. Employees want to know how to get promoted.Employees want to feel like the give and take is reciprocal. So please, reciprocate our loyalty and love for our jobs by making it easier to stay in them. Many people leave not because they hate their job, but because the pay is low, and the growth is limited, and our goals are not supported.

Hi Haley. Thanks for bringing up this concern. We will reach out to a few folks regarding the HR support you mentioned. It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but the Emerging Leaders Program could be of interest to you. It is open to all MUSC faculty and staff and more info can be found on the Horseshoe (NetID required to access)- https://horseshoe.musc.edu/everyone/leadership-institute/leadership-programs/emerging-leaders-program

Thank you to Torchlight Interventions and Consulting & Cirque Lodge for the wonderful evening at the Charleston RiverDogs. The fireworks display in the rain was next level. It was such a rare opportunity to connect & have fun with colleagues. So grateful for the experience and time together 🙏🏼

50% of my clients are therapists. And this surprises some people. But…Eating disorders don’t discriminate. Therapists are humans too. And as humans, they deserve nonjudgmental mental health support 💕 that’s why we’re here!If you are a therapist struggling with dieting, disordered eating, or body image, text SUPPORT to (843)849-4060 to get set up with a coach today.

I had such an amazing time speaking about diet culture, fatphobia, & what it REALLY takes to have a healthy relationship with yourself with everyone who attended the Lifelong Wellness Mastermind group this week. It was an honor to be the guest speaker for such an inspiring group.I am still amazed by everyone’s vulnerability and grateful for the opportunity to talk about something so important to me ♥️🫶🏼 Thank you to Edward Chionchio Sr for inviting me and highlighting Cosana Coaching
