Radio frequency identification is a relatively short-range technology, so there is almost certainly not an RFID chip inserted into your friend's brain. If one were, it would likely be unreadable—and even if it were somehow readable, the read distance would be a few inches at most. Therefore, there would be almost no value in someone implanting an RFID transponder in another person (though chips are used in dogs, placed under the skin of the neck to identify an animal if it ends up lost). That being said, an RFID implant is made of metal, so it would show up clearly on an X-ray. If your friend insists she has an RFID transponder implanted in her brain, she should have an X-ray scan of her skull performed. The device would then be clearly visible and a surgeon could remove it.
