Storing butter in therefrigerator
OnceLand O Lakes® Butter is opened and removed from itsFlavor Protect® Wrapper,it is best to store it in the refrigeratorwrapped or in a covered butter dish. To soften butter for spreading, takeitout at least 30-60 minutes prior to use, but no more than four hours ahead. Cutting butter into smaller pieces will speed up softening time (see article on softening butter).Always return any unused butter to the refrigerator. Storing butter in the freezer
For longer storage, Land O Lakes®Butter can be frozenin the original carton for up to four monthsif put in freezer prior toUSE BYdate on package. To help maintainthe butter’sdelicate flavor, we suggestwrappingthe carton in aluminum foil or in an airtight resealable plastic freezer bag before freezing. Once the butter is removed fromthefreezer and thawed, it should be used within 30 days.
