  • Create an Event for your garage sale. Include the location, date, and time, along with pictures of your items.
  • Use your status to advertise. Enter a location, date, time, and tag friends to help promote your sale.

  3. 3

Click + Create new listing. You can find this on the left side of the page.

  4. 4

Click Item for Sale. Since Facebook Marketplace no longer has a Garage Sale category, you'll need to advertise your garage sale using the regular item listing.

  5. 5

Click Add Photos to add photos. Take a good photo of your garage or lawn with most of your items in view; this will be the first image people see. You'll have a total of 10 slots to showcase your items for sale.

    • If you have a lot of items spread around, you can also take a video. Click Add Video to upload the video.
  6. 6

Add in your details. You can be as descriptive as you want, but

    • Title: Use a title such as Garage sale, Yard sale, or Moving sale.
      • Optional: Put your address in the title along with the date (x/x/2023 or TODAY)
    • Price: Enter an amount close to the average price of your items. You can also simply put $1 or $0.
    • Category: Select a category that matches the majority of your items, or Miscellaneous.
    • More Details: Enter your address and date/time of the sale first. Then, enter any details that can help potential buyers, such as location help, active hours, unique/rare items, etc.
      • If you don't see this field, click More Details.
  7. 7

Tap Next. This will be at the bottom of the left panel.

    • You'll need to finalize your listing.
  8. 8

Tap "Delivery method" and select Local pickup only. This will ensure that people know you won't be shipping any items out.

  9. 9

Click Publish. Your Facebook Marketplace listing will be published.

    • Be sure to keep an eye on your messages in case any potential buyers want to contact you beforehand.
