This is how to do durga maa puja at home:

• In your mandir mandap, place the idol or picture of Ma Durga

• Place the decorated thali in front of the picture.

• Light diya, incense stick and camphor

• If you wish, you can make rangoli too

• Once you are ready, chant durga mantra and move the aarti thali in a clockwise direction.

Durga Puja is one of the most famous pujas in India. It is a multi-day festival that honours the goddess Durga, who symbolises the victory of good over evil. The festival involves elaborate decorations, processions, cultural performances, and the worship of intricately crafted idols of the goddess Durga. What Durga Puja Rituals at Home Are to be Performed?

I would like to share the answer to how to perform Durga puja at home, step by step, as mentioned by my mother. Here they go:

• Before you start preparing for the puja, take a bath and wear clean clothes

• Offer flowers, fruits, agarbattis and others to the photo or idol

• Recite the Durga Saptashati with devotion

• Perform aarti

This is the basic process for worshipping Goddess Durga. Also, try to perform the homa if you are planning to do it during the day and end it before sunset.

Some auspicious dates to perform the puja are:

• Ashtami

• Navami

• Chaturdashi

• Maagh Amavasya

• Jyeshta Amavasya

• Chaitra and Kartik Purnima
