Planning a trip to a galaxy far, far away?

Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios has some iconic snacks to chow down on while you’re there — Ronto Wraps, Kat Saka’s Kettle, and Green Milk to name a few. But, if you’re looking for a more substantial meal while you’re visiting Batuu, there’s a fast-casual, counter-service spot that is loaded with thematic details and some unique eats. Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo has gotten our stamp of approval in the past, so I stopped by to see how the options are holding up. Come see how it went!

Atmosphere

As with the rest of Galaxy’s Edge, this restaurant is brimming with details. A delivery shuttle sits atop this restaurant that sends goods on and off the planet of Batuu. If you look closely, you’ll notice that there are 3 cargo containers being delivered to the scene — each with an important number on it: 77, 80, and 83.

These are the years that Star Wars,Empire Strikes Back, andReturn of the Jedi were released, respectively. The container with the number 80 is lowered quite a bit, so it can be a challenge to spot, but once you’re inside you can see it being lowered through a ceiling hatch in the center of the room.

Once inside, there are menu board screens to look at while you wait to place your order, or you could create a mobile order and skip ahead. This place can get busy, so we recommend using this tool!

Once you get your food, there is a self-serve station for essentials like sauces, napkins, and water cups. The food is served with silverware, however, so make you are given what you need from a Cast Member when you pick up your food!

There are a few dining areas to choose from, like the main area in the front of the building…

…and an outdoor seating area that can get hot, but offers better lighting and more room to breathe.

In the outdoor area, there are multiple tables as well as a bartop surrounding a small garden.

Let’s take a look at the food!

Menu

Proprietor Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs runs the kitchen, and you’ll find plenty of unique offerings at this spot. When we stopped by for lunch, there were 7 entrees to choose from, including the Roasted Endorian Chicken Salad, Batuuan Beef and Crispy Topato Stir-fry, and the Plant-based Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread.

For kids, there are Ithorian Pasta Rings, Takodana Veggie Dippers, and a Fried Chicken Tip Yip Youngling Meal. An Outpost Puff is your only option currently for dessert.

If you’re looking for a spirited beverage, they have a few — like the Takodana Quencher and the Surly Sarlacc. Those looking for something non-alcoholic will find assorted soft beverages and Moof Juice.

Eats

I ordered three entrees: the Fried Endorian Chicken Tip Yip, the Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs,and the Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread.

First, the Fried Endorian Chicken Tip Yip for $15.69 was Crispy Chicken served with House-Made Macaroni & Cheese and Roasted Vegetables.

These had a nice, crispy coating and they were very tender on the inside. However, they were a little boring. They reminded me a lot of McDonald’s chicken nuggets, to be honest (no hate towards Mcdonald’s chicky nuggies!)

They were good, but would I order these again for almost $16? Probably not. But, if you have a picky eater among you, these would be a perfect choice.

As for the sides, they pretty much fit the picky-eater bill as well. The macaroni and cheese was a great, classic choice, and the spiral design of the noodles really held on to all the cheese well. It had a solid flavor and it was pretty creamy. The macaroni and cheese here used to be served with a Ditalini-style pasta, which was very popular, but I approve of this version.

The broccoli was fresh and still had a bit of a crunch, which I liked — but it wasn’t seasoned as far as I could tell. It was a fine side if you’re looking for something green. Overall this is a pretty good meal if you’re looking for something simple or kid-friendly (there is an actual kid version of this as well). However, if you are hoping to try something a little more adventurous, this will likely not do the trick for you.

Next up, I got the Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs for $16.99.These are Pork Ribs brushed with Tangy BBQ Sauce and served with Blueberry Corn Muffin and Red Cabbage Slaw.

I really enjoyed these! The meat was very tender and juicy and fell off the bone. The outside was caramelized well, which added great texture, as did the crunchy breadcrumb-like topping. There was a great balance of sweet and salty flavors in the barbecue sauce. It was tangy and had a little bit of a kick, which I felt was pretty mild, but be prepared if you’re not a fan of spice. However, these were a little vinegary and unique, which I loved, but it’s not for everyone! Keep that in mind if you are looking for a simpler barbecue sauce.

The crunchy topping was a fun touch. On top of adding a nice texture, it was garlicky and herby. Overall, these ribs were pretty messy, so grab a fair amount of napkins and wet naps — but I thought they were worth the sticky fingers! My only complaint was that the tendons were hard to separate from the meat, so I ended up having to awkwardly pull pieces of it out of my mouth.

The ribs sit on a bed of Red Cabbage Slaw. This was fresh, crunchy, and sweet with a touch of sourness. I think it complimented the ribs well. On the side was a Blueberry Muffin. I thought it was a bit… odd? It was fine… the flavors were good, but it was a little on the dry side.

The bites that had blueberries in them were tasty, but otherwise, it was mediocre in my opinion. We have really loved these in the past, though, so you might get a good batch — just keep in mind that it is a bit inconsistent.

Lastly, I ordered the Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread for $12.99. These arePlant-based Meatballs served with Herb Hummus, Tomato-Cucumber Relish, and Pita.

The plant-based meatballs were actually really good in my opinion. If you aren’t expecting something that could “pass” for meat, they do have a good bit of flavor.

The texture was almost reminiscent of falafel, and they were nice and garlicky and herby.

There was a good portion of pita to wrap them in, and when you put it all together with the tomato-cucumber relish and the herb hummus, a bite is FULL of flavor.

They tasted very Mediterranean as a whole. Tangy, herby, and garlicky. These are certainly a good option for anyone plant-based, but I would say a good portion of adventurous meat eaters would enjoy these as well.

However, these are pretty oniony and garlicky — so you might want to be prepared with some gum! Also, if you are hoping these could pass for a true meatball, you might be disappointed.

Eat here if…

1. You are looking for unique food. As far as quick-service theme park food goes, this is pretty fun. It is tasty and adventurous, but there are still options for those in your family looking for something a little simpler.
2. You want a thematic dining experience. Not only is the food here unique and fitting but the restaurant is also decked out in all kinds of decor and backstory. If you love Star Wars and are looking to further immerse yourself in the details of Galaxy’s Edge, this is a great place to of it.
3. You are looking for a quick bite to eat. This might not be a grab-and-go style of food, but the food was ready fast. Combine that with the convenience of Mobile Order, and you’ve got an efficient spot for lunch.

Skip this spot if….

1. You want a quiet meal. This spot is usually pretty busy. Not only can it be crowded, but also the atmosphere is a little hectic. It’s fun if you’re looking to immerse yourself, but it can be overwhelming if you need some peace and quiet.
2. You want a table service meal. There are a few good options in Hollywood Studios if you’re looking for a slower dining experience, like The Hollywood Brown Derby. Skip this spot if you’re looking for something a little more elevated.
3. You’re on a tight budget. This is a quick-service meal, so it’s cheaper than a lot of restaurants you’ll find in Disney World. But, as far as quick service goes, it is on the pricier end. Keep that in mind when you’re trying to manage your vacation fund!

Overall

Overall, I was very impressed with this location. There is tons of theming, the food was unique and tasty, and there is something for most visitors on the menu. It is a little pricey for quick-service food, so this might not be for you if you are on a budget. But, if you are looking for a fun dining experience with good food, this is a great choice. Keep in mind, however, that it can get a little hectic during prime mealtimes. Finding a table inside can be a challenge when it’s really busy, but there is a nice outdoor space to fall back on if need be.
