Wantable vs. Stitch Fix: Which Personal Styling Service is Better? (1)

Editor's note: With the Spring around the corner, it's time for a wardrobe update. Unsure where to turn? We put Stitch Fix & Wantable to the test to see who should be dressing us this Spring.

Have you ever found yourself staring at your closet, feeling an icky combination of overwhelmed and uninspired by the same old clothes you’ve worn a million times?

Unfortunately, it’s a feeling we’ve all had more times than we care for. There’s nothing quite like a new outfit to brighten up your day and give you the confidence you need to walk out into the world feeling like a million bucks!

Thankfully, we live in a time when refreshing your wardrobe has never been easier. Say goodbye to dealing with the hassle of physically going to stores and say hello to personal styling and shopping services like Wantable or Stitch Fix.

When it comes to finding the perfect outfits, these are really a game changer. They’ll help you find new pieces that perfectly suit your style, so you can rock your daily looks with excitement! I tried both and while they are both good options, there’s definitely a clear winner when I compare them side by side.

If you want unlimited options… Wantable

Wantable vs. Stitch Fix: Which Personal Styling Service is Better? (2)

After I completed the style quiz and my personal profile on Wantable, I was given endless options. This is not an exaggeration - there was a lot to choose from and all of it matched my style preferences. All I had to do was approve the items I liked, select my size and that was that.

Stitch Fix did ask for my personal style input, but there were way fewer options to choose from. I found myself constantly giving the thumbs down to each outfit because I wanted something different, but they kept coming back with variations of the same style. After about 10 options, I was left feeling unsure about my style preferences. I was less than excited about my mystery box arriving.

If you want to get the best return on your investment… Wantable

Both services charge a $20 styling fee, which you get to use as a credit towards anything you decide to keep. You also get free shipping, returns, and exchanges from both services, which makes the whole process much easier. Even with that, Wantable is the clear winner for me. You get 7 items in each box and if you keep 5 or more, you get 20% off your total price!

With Stitch Fix, you only get 5 items to choose from and you can only get their discount if you decide to keep everything you received. That’s a lot of pressure to keep something you may not really love.

If you want brand names everyone knows… Stitch Fix

While Wantable provided me with better options overall, I can definitely appreciate the fact that Stitch Fix carries brands that I know and love, like Alice + Olivia, Kate Spade, and Calvin Klein. However, these well-known brands also come at a higher price point. If you're on a budget and want to try out more trendy pieces created by up-and-coming designers, then Wantable may be the better option for you. But if you’re willing to splurge a little, Stitch Fix is the winner here.

If you need more time before committing to a purchase… Wantable

On top of the fact that Wantable sends more items in their boxes, they also give you more time to checkout. With Wantable, you get 5 days to decide what you want to keep, but with Stitch Fix you only get 3. An extra 2 days may not seem like a lot but for a busy girl like me, 3 days go by in a flash! I wouldn’t want to accidentally miss the deadline and end up having to keep pieces I don’t really love.

And the winner is… Wantable!

Ultimately, which styling service you choose will depend on your individual style, your budget and your time constraints. For me, though, Wantable is the way to go.

With more options, more time to choose and a price point I’m comfortable with, Wantable is the clear winner.
