Can You Repair Damaged Weapons?
You cannot repair weapons on the verge of breaking
The answer to this question is no. There are no weapons that can be repaired in the game (except for the Master Sword, which will regain its charge), so once a weapon starts blinking red and you get a notification that it will soon break, that weapon's usage is almost up, so you should probably chuck it at an enemy. If you really like a weapon, you could always display it in your house before it breaks.
However, you can always replace a "Rusty" item for a better one. Save those up, as you can get a more powerful item in return!
How to Repair Rusty Weapons
Rusty weapons may seem impractical to use, but they can be restored to a much stronger top-quality weapon.
Collecting Rusty Items
Look for Rusty Items such as rusty shields, rusty claymores, rusty halberds, etc. and keep them in your inventory. Try not to use them as they will break easily.
Find a Rock Oktorok
The only monster that can renew a Rusty item is the Rock Oktorok. They can be found around Death Mountain, located on the north-eastern part of Hyrule.
Drop the Rusty Item
Once you find a Rock Oktorok, drop your Rusty Item near it. It will automatically suck your Rusty item. Wait for a couple of seconds and prepare for the Rock Oktorok to release it.
Note: Make sure not to throw it, or the item might break.
Pick up the Item
After the Rock Oktorok finishes its job, collect the resulting item. The item you will get is random, therefore you can even get a high-damage or high-durability item!
Note: You might get hit by the replaced weapon, so get some distance or cover while watiting.
