Looking for an easy Sorcery or Incantation Memory Slot expansion? There are only eight Memory Stones in Elden Ring, and one of them is inside Oridys’s Rise, on the Weeping Peninsula. It’s quite easy to obtain, so be sure to stop by whenever you’re in the area.
In this Elden Ring Oridys’s Rise guide, we’ll show you how to seek three wise beasts, find the turtles’ locations, open the door, and collect your reward from Oridys’s Rise map.
Oridys’s Rise location

Oridys’s Rise is a large stone tower on the eastern cliffs in the Weeping Peninsula, northeast of the Castle Morne Rampart site of grace and south of the Beside the Crater-Pocked Glade site of grace. To reach the top of the cliffs, follow the path south from the Bridge of Sacrifice, and then turn left before the Nomadic Merchant. You will see Oridys’s Rise to your right.
Oridys’s Rise enemies and items
There are no deadly bosses in this mysterious Elden Ring location, for a change. Watch out for the wolf pack in front of the entrance, though. They’re relatively easy to kill, but you might want to do so while riding your mount or by using ranged attacks to avoid being swamped.
The only item in Oridys’s Rise is the Memory Stone, which is used to increase your Sorcery and Incantation Memory Slots. Unfortunately, the entrance to Oridys’s Rise is sealed. You’ll have to solve the Three Wise Beasts puzzle to unlock it.
Oridys’s Rise Puzzle: Three Wise Beasts

See the statue holding a book next to the sealed doorway? Upon interacting, the book tells you to “seek three wise beasts”. A pretty vague hint, but here’s what you need to do: Kill the three nearby spirit turtles.

The first spirit turtle is right in front of the entrance.
The second spirit turtle is directly left of the staircase leading into Oridys’s Rise. It’s hiding in the bushes, and therefore a bit hard to spot.
The third spirit turtle is in the middle of the pond on the right side (west) of the tower’s entrance. This turtle is invisible, but if you just face the pond’s center and use an attack, you should be able to hit it.
Inside Oridys’s Rise
After solving Elden Ring’s Oridys’s Rise puzzle, the door will open, and you’re free to climb the stairs to the top of the tower. This is where you’ll find the treasure chest containing a Memory Stone.
Oh, and a final tip if you don’t wish to become another bloodstain at the top of Oridys’s Rise: Take the stairs when going down.
To open Oridys's Rise you must seek 3 wise beasts by finding all 3 turtles. The first turtle is directly in front of oridys rise. the second turtle is located to the left of the stair case in front of oridys rise. And the last turtle will be invisible in the middle of the pond to the right side of Oridys Rise.
The top of the tower is sealed by a puzzle. Read the message at the foot of the statue is a hint to solve to puzzle: "May erudition light the way!" To clear the puzzle, perform the Erudition gesture in front of the statue while wearing a Glintstone Crown that lights up when you perform the gesture.

To solve the Strange Statues puzzle, you need to press the buttons on the base of the statues which have 2 fingers, 3 fingers, 5 fingers and 7 fingers. If you happen to make a mistake at any point, you can pop around to the back of a statue and press the button again to reset it.
Near the front of the tower, you will find a small Imp statue with a message: "Seek three wise beasts". While vague, this message holds the key to the Oridys's Rise puzzle. After reading the message, three ethereal turtles will spawn around the tower. To get inside, you need to find and kill all three of these turtles.
Defeat the Silver Tear Giant and pick up the Fingerslayer Blade in a chest beneath this statue.Return to Ranni, give her the blade, and re-load the area to get into Renna's Rise and access the rest of Ranni's questline.
Once you've got the second Academy Glintstone Key, simply return to Sorcerer Thops in the Church Of Irith, talk to him, and give him the Academy Glintstone Key when prompted. At the end of the conversation, you will receive the Erudition Gesture from Thops.
Elden Ring Isolated Divine Tower: How to get there
The earliest you can reach the tower's base is via a teleporter trap in Weeping Peninsula, but you won't be able to get inside until you've defeated Malenia. This is also the only way to reach the tower if you've defeated Maliketh.
Looking for a way to get inside Testu's Rise in Elden Ring? Like Oridys's Rise, Testu's Rise is a tower in Liurnia Lake, north of the Raya Lucaria Academy, that you might struggle to enter. The door is blocked by a magical barrier that you can only open by finding the three wise beasts nearby.
And the "beasts" that the tome is referring to happen to be large turtles near the tower. Elden Ring players will need to find and kill all three turtles for the magical barrier to disappear.
Elden Ring has three towers spread across its entire map - Oridys's Rise, Testu's Rise and Chelona's Rise - each one of which has a sign outside telling you "Seek three great wise beasts". What it's actually asking you to do is find three glowing blue turtles nearby and kill them.
Giant tortoises are found only in the Galapagos Islands and prefer to live in dry lowlands, although some are found in the misty highlands on Santa Cruz. They are also found on the islands of Pinzon, Española and Isabela.
