Install LED tape using connector clips

First, peel the backing from the strip light adhesive. Then, press and hold it to the surface for at least 10 seconds, or until the light firmly adheres to its surface. Then, repeat the press-and-hold process every six inches across the entire length. Congratulations!

Connecting it the other way may damage it, it may even explode (electrolytic capacitors) or your circuit will just not work properly. So polarity is very important as you can see.

A: Yes, the wiring direction matters. The data signal (green wire) passes the digital bits from one chip/LEDs to the next in the direction of the white arrows (visible in the 2nd photo). Direction does not matter for the 5V (red wire) and Ground (black wire) power supplies.
