Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with a great question! The Florida heat and humidity can sometimes be a bit much, and I certainly understand your concern. You're in luck though as EPCOT has plenty of places for you to rest in the shade during your visit!
Melinda, when I'm looking to beat the heat in EPCOT there are a few places that come to mind right away. One of my favorite shows at Walt Disney World Resort just happens to be located in World Showcase at EPCOT - The American Adventure. The American Adventure is a nearly thirty-minute show that highlights some of the history of our country narrated by familiar faces brought to life by the magic of Disney animatronics. This theater is large, plush, and wonderfully air-conditioned. Not only will you get to rest, but you can enjoy a good show too! Nearby in France, you will find theBeauty and the Beast Sing-Along. This approximately 15-minute film is an abbreviated re-telling of the Disney animated classic and is another great choice. Next to the Journey Into Imagination with Figment, you'll discover theDisney and Pixar Short Film Festival which runs 18 minutes of short films in 4D.
The various pavilions located in the front of the park also provide a chance to get out of the heat. My kids enjoy taking a stroll around The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavillion to see all of the sea animals on display, while my husband and I enjoy the cool air conditioning! The Land Pavillion is home toSunshine Seasons, one of our favorite stops for aQuick-Service meal. This indoor restaurant does not require reservations and typically has ample seating. It's a great place to grab a bite to eat or just cool off with something to drink. I highly recommend the Oak-Grilled Rotisserie Chicken as a wonderful choice for lunch! Connections Eatery, located in World Celebration, is another Quick-Service location with lots of indoor seating where you can rest during the day.
You may also be interested to know that many of the rides in EPCOT feature an indoor queue including Soarin' Around the World, Living with the Land, Frozen Ever After, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. . .just to name a few! On a hot day, we really appreciate being able to wait inside for our favorite rides and attractions. Of course, you can always purchase Disney Genie+ service for the opportunity to use Lightning Lane entrances when available at select rides and attractions.
