Moth, old school style, somewhere in southern Ohio for $975. You could own it and tell your friends that, "Yes, as a matter of fact, I am a Moth sailor."

Sailfish in NW CT for $200, looks more like it would work very well as a voluminous SUP. Maybe put a large sailboard mast and sail on it and have a fun lake board, though they will cost more than the boat.

I-14 Skiff (2 traps) in Charlottesville, VA for $6,250. Not a budget boat but if the pictures are to be believed it would be a good deal for what is present. If I had a skiffie friend I would sell the 29er just picked up to singlehand and switch to this. I should learn to be nicer to people.

That's a Morrison 12 design... Mega deal since they are still competitive! Someone go get it and more importantly, race it.

Escape Rumba, rotomold cat rigged dinghy in East Stroudsburg, PA for $500. Might be a good beach boat.

Quite a few of that brand around.
I think some here noted that they were a boatload of problems - if I was going by looks alone I'd have one.....

The city park lake Sunfish livery was augmented with Escape boats 20 years ago. I fairly regularly went down to rent, 8 minutes from home and boats rigged and ready to go at $8/hr. The Escapes all disappeared after a few years, no idea why, maybe unrepairable daggerboard trunk damages? Sunfish faster in all conditionsbut kids preferred the Escape for the co*ckpit size.

They've dropped $1k off of the asking price since you posted this. I'd love to do this but a similar yearsold recently for sub $2k so it's hard to want to pay $5,250. That and I'm long a few too many boats.

Nonesense. Not too many boats, not enough time/money/sig-other-patience/room-in-yard...

Landshark! or Sandshark? in Newton Fall, OH for $200. Comes with mosquito pond and trailer. Or mount a 15hp motor and side strakes and this thing would bogey.
Looks like a Butterfly. Nice enough little boat, probably not worth wading thru the weeds for though. Did they name it "shark" in the hopes of keeping away snakes?
That old road grader looks like more of a find!

Actually, that is Sailwriter in the picture. I have my eye on the Raider of the original designer, John Drawe. May be available in the Fall. And a lot closerto me than this boat. Meanwhile, doing just fine crewing for others on all kinds of boats.

Doesn't the original Topper sorta look like the Butterfly? Those mini-scows look fun but the Butterfly has a bit of weight to it. I think the Topper is 35+ lbs less.
Speaking of weight, I found a nearby Minifish in very good condition....I need to chit or get off the pot, because I want one for practice (up north since my Rocket is down south) and I like the light weight. Procrastination is my enemy.
There are MF from $50 (hull only) to $300 (dirty complete) to as high as $850 (won't sell), but two in great condition in NE just went for $500 and $600. One had spanking new sail.
I think I'd use it 6-8 times this summer....but that's worthwhile considering it will be fun to spruce up and always have some value.
