SEEKING DONATIONS FOR JULIAN A PARVO POSITIVE PITTIE PUPPY FROM PG SHELTER!
Julian is a 4 month old puppy that was available for rescue pull or adoption (outside the county) at PG Animal Services on Tuesday April 18th.
Julian was a typical playful baby, but then things took a turn for the worst on Sunday April 23rd. Julian was very lethargic and had no interest in eating. I rushed him to the emergency vet and a few moments later, he threw up yellow bile and began shivering as if he had a fever, so the vet triaged. It was clear he was very ill and he was immediately put into intensive care after he tested positive for parvo. The vet confirmed that due to the incubation period for parvo that Julian had parvo while in the shelter and did not contract after he left the shelter. His parvo status was unknown upon adoption.
As you can imagine, it's been a few very emotional days for me. Julian is currently still in intensive care fighting for his life and has good days and bad days. As of today, they are feeding him with a syringe since they couldn't get a feeding tube in his nasal passage. The vet wants to continue around the clock treatment which is $550-$700 per day. I have already spent $4,000 on his care, but I’m not ready to give up on him while he is fighting for his life. When I reached out to the shelter for help, they told me there was nothing they could do. Unfortunately, my funds are extremely limited now.
Any assistance you could provide towards his extensive vet care, would be greatly appreciated. Please help give Julian a fighting chance!
